“We need solid representation in government to get better policy outcomes.”
- Gavin Scurr
General Manager, Pinata Farms
For more than 30 years, Gavin Scurr and his family have been part of QFVG’s community, driven by a belief that “the horticultural industry in Queensland needs solid advocacy to achieve better outcomes for all.”
Throughout his family’s membership, Gavin has seen firsthand the impact of industry-wide representation.
“What QFVG does for the pineapple industry is very specific to pineapples, particularly their work fighting against imported fresh pineapples and strengthening quarantine protections,” he says.
“I’m confident our whole industry is better off with QFVG.”
For Gavin, the value of QFVG’s membership goes beyond dollars. For him, and the team at Piñata Farms, QFVG membership is their way of contributing to the collective strength that underpins Queensland horticulture.
“Part of being a bigger operator is doing some of the heavy lifting for growers who don’t have the resources,” Gavin says.
“We see membership as doing our part. We’re better together.”
QFVG’s advocacy, guidance and commitment to better outcomes ensures growers like Gavin can move forward with confidence knowing growers aren’t facing industry challenges alone.
