Hort360 GREAT BARRIER REEF
Assisting growers to address environmental impacts and agricultural runoff from farmland entering the Great Barrier Reef lagoon.
What is the Hort360 Great Barrier Reef Project?
The Hort360 Great Barrier Reef project works with horticulture growers across Queensland’s Reef catchments—from Cape York to the Burnett–Mary—to improve farming practices and support better outcomes for farm businesses and Reef water quality.
Growers can benchmark practices in Hort360 and work one-on-one with a facilitator to review current management practices, identify on-farm priorities and plan practical improvements. Support focuses on the management of nutrients, pesticides, sediment, irrigation and farm run-off.
The project also provides a pathway to Hort360 Reef Certification, enabling growers to demonstrate their commitment to best management practice (BMP), environmental stewardship and continuous improvement.
-
Horticultural growers within the six Reef regions in the Great Barrier Reef catchment—Cape York, Wet Tropics, Burdekin, Mackay Whitsunday, Fitzroy and Burnett Mary.

KUREEN FARMING
###
Paul and Martin Inderbitzin of Kureen Farming are part of a long-standing family farming business with deep roots in Far North Queensland horticulture. Farming across the Atherton Tablelands and Lakeland, the Inderbitzin family has built a diversified operation producing crops including avocados, blueberries, custard apples, bananas and seed crops. Their approach reflects strong family values: working hard, adapting across generations, caring for the land, and making decisions with the future in mind. With a focus on quality production, innovation and responsible farm management, Kureen Farming demonstrates how family-owned horticulture businesses can continue to grow while remaining grounded in stewardship, resilience and a commitment to leaving the farm better for the next generation.
